On Thursday 20 August 2026 at 9.00 pm, the Les Accords de Cassis Festival presents a special concert.
Romantic Fantasies
Johann Sebastian Bach: Trio Sonata No. 6, BWV 1051
Robert Schumann: Fantasia, Op. 17

Tom Johnson: Failing, a very difficult piece for solo double bass (1975)
Max Bruch: String Octet in B flat major, Op. Posthumous
Two absolute masterpieces of great music! In the first half, Robert Schumann’s Piano Fantasy, an absolute masterpiece of the Romantic repertoire, performed by pianist Nicolas Bringuier, winner of the prestigious Schumann Competition in Zwickau.
Followed by Max Bruch’s String Octet, completed by the composer in 1920, with eight musicians on stage to express the lyricism and dark torments of the Romantic soul.
