Maurice RAVEL (1875–1937) was a leading French composer of the early 20th century.
He is renowned for his refined compositional style, his brilliant orchestrations and his influences from jazz and Spanish music.
Among his best-known works are *Le Boléro*, *Daphnis et Chloé* and *Ma Mère l’Oye*.
His precise and innovative style had a profound influence on French and modern music.
Claude DEBUSSY (1862–1918) was a major French composer of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
He revolutionised musical language by emphasising colour, timbre and atmosphere.
Among his most famous works are *Clair de lune*, *La Mer* and *Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune*.
His style, often associated with musical impressionism, has profoundly influenced modern music.
Practical information:
Held indoors in the main conference hall of the Cultural Centre.
6.00 pm: Doors open.
6.30 pm: Start of the conference.
Price: €10 per person – €5 for CCC members
Unnumbered seating (free seating)
The organisers reserve the right to change the venue of the lecture and, if necessary, to move it to another venue located near the Cultural Centre.
