On Saturday 22 August 2026 at 9 pm, the Les Accords de Cassis Festival presents an exceptional concert.
Sirba Octet – TANTZ!
Richard Schmoucler, founder of the Sirba Octet, says: "Tantz! has its roots in Eastern Europe, where my grandparents lived before emigrating almost a century ago.
I wanted to rediscover a little of this history, which is fundamental to my culture and sensibility, by choosing to bring this music back to life in my present role as a classical musician.”
This programme, inspired by human migration and in a sense building ‘bridges’ between Romania, Moldova, Russia and Hungary—countries rich in a diverse repertoire of traditional, klezmer and Gypsy music—naturally unfolds as a sensitive and poetic hymn to life, tinged with humour and particularly exhilarating! One could not put it better… nor dream of anything better than this marvellous ensemble of eight virtuosos, recorded over many years by the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label, for a spectacular closing concert!!!

Venue: Esplanade Aristide Briand – An open-air event in a marquee, in a magical setting between the harbour and the beach!
Unreserved seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Refreshments and food available on site.

Depending on the weather, the concert may be moved to the Congress Centre, Oustau Calendal, Esplanade A. Briand.
