Conference : Ebola virus
Presentation
On Tuesday 13 May 2025 at 6.30 pm, the Cassis Cultural Centre will be presenting a musical conference:
EBOLA Virus
Presented by Michel Blanchot
General Pharmacist (2S)
Professor at the Val-de-Grâce
Pastor, WHO / Goarn Expert
A few cases of haemorrhagic fever of an ill-defined nature, which appeared in West Africa at the end of December 2013 in the complex ecosystem of forested Guinea, made up of primary tropical forests, swamps and Sahelian tree zones, were only detected and identified at a late stage due to the extremely destabilised geopolitical context of the sub-region (Guinea Conakry, Liberia, Sierra Leone), the unstructured or non-existent health systems and the many lawless or war zones.
This situation led to the outbreak of the Ebola virus epidemic, which officially claimed more than 11,500 lives between March 2014 and the end of 2015 in sparsely populated areas.
The epidemic was brought under control thanks to the "GLOBAL ACTION AGAINST EBOLA" or #EBOLA RESPONSE, which in a matter of weeks mobilised all the United Nations organisations, NGO's, without distinction of allegiance or political persuasion. In just a few months, the epidemic, which had spread to three countries, was brought under control by rigorous organisation, centralised decision-making and immediate, controlled implementation.
Indoors in the large conference room of the Centre Culturel.
6.00 pm: Doors open.
6.30pm: Conference begins.
Price: €10 per person - €5 for CCC members
Seats not numbered (free seating).
